Do I need a permit?

This is the #1 question we get. In Cardinia and Casey shires, the general rule is:

  • Under 1 Meter: Generally NO permit required (unless near an easement).
  • Over 1 Meter: YES. Building permit and engineering required.
  • Near Easement: YES. If your wall is within 1m of a boundary or easement, it needs engineering regardless of height.
We manage the entire permit process with our network of building surveyors and structural engineers. You don't need to chase council.
