Why Pakenham Lawns Stay Wet

Residents in Pakenham, Officer, and Clyde North often face a specific geological challenge: Reactive Clay Subsoil. Unlike sandy suburbs, our water doesn't drain down; it sits on top of the clay layer, turning your new turf into a swamp.

The "Squishy Lawn" Test

If you walk on your lawn 2 days after rain and water pools around your boots, you have a drainage failure. This is not normal, and adding more topsoil won't fix it.

Our Remediation Process

01

Clay Excavation

We mechanically strip the impermeable clay top layer. In serious cases, we trench 400mm+ deep to create gravity channels.

02

Ag-Pipe Installation

We install 100mm slotted agricultural pipe socked in geofabric, seated in a bed of 20mm clean scoria or blue metal.

03

Gypsum Amendment

We cultivate worst-case clay with clay-breaker Gypsum to modify the soil structure before laying fresh sandy loam topsoil.
